Session 1: Parent Intake
Length: 20-30 minutes.
Goal: understand the family rules before the child is in the room.
Agenda:
- What money exists or is expected?
- Who controls the sheet?
- What values matter most?
- What should require parent approval?
- What should the child learn first?
- Pick review rhythm.
Output:
- Parent rules
- Initial bucket names
- Setup notes for the child session
Session 2: Child Setup
Length: 45-60 minutes.
Goal: make the child feel capable, not inspected.
Agenda:
- Explain the three questions: what came in, where should it go, what is the next decision?
- Enter one sample gift or allowance row.
- Choose one goal.
- Split a sample amount into give/save/spend.
- Show parent approval area.
- Pick one weekly action.
Output:
- Working sheet
- One goal
- First give/save/spend split
- Next child action
30-Day Cleanup
Length: 20 minutes.
Goal: prevent the sheet from becoming a graveyard.
Agenda:
- Clean messy rows.
- Review what the child actually used.
- Remove anything confusing.
- Update next action.
6-Month Review
Length: 30-45 minutes.
Goal: turn usage into a lesson.
Agenda:
- What money came in?
- What decisions were made?
- What was saved?
- What was given?
- What spending felt worth it or not worth it?
- What should change for the next season?
Parent Handoff
Sam leaves the parent with:
- Sheet link
- What tabs matter
- Child's next action
- Parent's next action
- Suggested date for next review
